CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS AT HINDU COLLEGE :
     Hindu College celebrated its centenary in February, 1999. The occasion reverberated with the goodwill of the faculty the students, the non-teaching staff and the alumni. The six-day celebrations culminated in the visit to the college by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who addressed a huge gathering in the front lawns of Hindu College.
The Prime Minister then released a commemorative stamp, first-day cover and a souvenir to mark this occasion.

    The Hindu Education Trust, as part of the centenary celebrations, decided to institute Distinguished Alumni Awards. The Alumni Association laid down the broad parameters for the awards to be given to those Hinduites, who had attained distinction in their chosen field of activity. The first list of recipients of the Awards is as follows :

The Centenary celebrations came to an end with the Valedictory session in the following year i.e. February, 2000 in which the Chief Guest was the Vice President of India, Shri Krishan Kant. On this occasion a road was named after a distinguished, Principal of Hindu College Dr N.V. Thadani. Shri Narendra Kumar of HarAnand Publication himself a Hinduite, published an old students directory and a book entitled In Retrospect which had contributions from prominent Hinduites. The editorial team consisted of members of faculty of Hindu College led by Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, a distinguished academic and a Hinduite. A prominent exhibition giving glimpses of Hindu College history was set up in the foyer of the auditorium by Hinduite Shri Prem Behal, CEO Exhibition India.
