Introduction

The Department of Chemistry has the reputation of consistently producing toppers of the University and is rightfully regarded as the best Chemistry Department of Delhi University. The Department has highly motivated team of Sixteen Associate and Assistant Professors. The faculty members update themselves with latest developments through research projects and interaction with industries. Some of the books written by faculty members are widely used by college and school students and acknowledged.

The Department has two chemistry laboratories equipped with modern instruments like UV-visible spectrophotometer, instrumentation laboratories, analytical laboratories and a computer room. This year we are introducing in new course in Semester-V as “Biochemistry”.

Activities of the Chemistry Society ‘Tatva’ provide students with a forum to express themselves freely and display their capabilities beyond classroom. It organizes seminars, lectures, annual festival ‘Catalysis’ and inter college competitions. An annual magazine ‘Substance’ is also published.
