Introduction

The Department of Chemistry is situated on the ground floor on the right side of the main college building, facing the college cricket ground.

The Department has two laboratories with balance rooms attached to them, in each of which forty students can work at a time. Besides these, there are two instrumentation laboratories for carrying out experiments in physical chemistry and analytical techniques. The Department has well-equipped computer room. It has a highly qualified faculty, majority of them with Ph.D. degrees, many of them are authors of reputed books. Some of the faculty members are engaged in research activities also. The students' results in various University examinations have been consistently excellent. The Chemistry Society “TATVA” organizes its annual festival “Catalysis” in which, students organize seminars, paper-reading contests, panel discussions on various topics and many more new emerging areas, apart from talks by eminent scholars.
