LIBRARY SERVICES
:
   The library provides the following services to its users :

Circulation Services :
        The library provides lending of books and allied reading material to students and staff members.

Reference Services
:
       It is to assist users in getting their required information.

Book Location Services
:
       It is lo help users in locating and getting their desired books and other reading material.

Reservation of Books
:
       Books in great demand and which generally remain under issue can be got reserved by users by filling in Reservation Slips.

New Arrival Display Service
:
       Every fortnight selected books newly added to the library are displayed on the New Arrivals Display Rack before they are released for loan. In addition lo this, the jackets of some of the selected books  are displayed prominently on a bulletin board near the entrance. The purpose is to bring the newly added books to the notice of users.

Photocopier Services :
        The library helps in providing photocopies of articles/text lo students and staff members from documents available in the library. For this purpose, either the users may get the desired documents issued against their Consultation Tickets and return the same immediately after getting them Xeroxed from dealers of their choice or they may assign this job to the library staff and may avail of this service through' the library on nominal charges. The Xeroxed copies may be collected from the library on the following day.

Access to Databases of other Libraries :
        Hindu College Library is a member of Delhi Library Network (DHI ,NET). The main objectives of DHLNFT are lo promote resource sharing among the member libraries, develop a network of libraries, collect, share and disseminate information, offer computerized services to the users and co-ordinate efforts for suitable development and reducing duplication wherever possible. At present there are more than 90 member libraries in DHI-NET. Out of these 70 libraries are Delhi based and 19 libraries are from out of Delhi (from 10 states). There is also an overseas library (California University Library ) which is a member of DELNET. Users of this library can have access to several online databases such as:

(a) Union catalogue of books
(b) Union list of current periodicals in Delhi libraries
(c) Union catalogue of periodicals in Delhi libraries
(d) Database of periodical articles
(e) CD-ROM databases
(f) Database of theses and dissertations
(g) Database of publications of Indian languages
(h) Indian Specialists database
(i) Books in print: New titles from Indian publishers
